INTRODUCTION

Welcome, I am Meghan Weber, Drama Club director. It is my fourth year teaching music K-8 at Blessed Sacrament. My husband, Dan, and I have five children and have been blessed to be a part of the BSS community for nearly twenty years.

Inspired by the school theme “All In,” we are happy to revitalize the Drama Club. Drama Club is a place where all students are accepted and respected. Everyone can find their niche, whether performing on stage, working backstage, making props, or running the sound and light boards. Theatre is a great place to be creative and work as a group in a supportive environment. We have worked hard to prepare for our upcoming performances at the end of March and look forward to sharing our talents in Disney's High School Musical JR with you.

SUMMARY

Disney's High School Musical JR centers on the relationship between Troy, a high school jock, and Gabriella, the new smart girl at East High. They meet on a family vacation while singing in a karaoke competition. Rediscovering each other at school, their relationship, and their surprise decision to audition together for the school show are thwarted by the school's current leading lady, Sharpay, and Troy and Gabriella's well-meaning friends. Finally, Gabriella and Troy find a way to be themselves and are rewarded with the lead roles in the school show. Full of catchy songs and exciting dance routines, this musical explores friendship, first love, and acceptance issues.
